The district mayor of Santa Marta, Carlos Pinedo Cuello, participated in the Andesco Congress in Cartagena, in its 26th edition, in which he spoke about the aqueduct and sewage solution for the city, the provision of electric energy service and its high tariff value, and, the challenges and difficulties of the city in terms of connectivity in the rural and urban areas of the Santa Marta district.

During his speech he also referred to the importance and priority for his government to begin solving the problem of the city’s water and sewer system, which is about to turn 500 years old.

“Being optimistic, before the end of the year, we began to tender the El Curval Treatment Plant with an approximate investment of 137 billion pesos, in parallel with the conduction line to Mamatoco with an approximate investment of 150 billion we will advance significantly, solving about 40% of the city”, said Mayor Carlos Pinedo Cuello before the leaders of the public services sector.

Likewise, he referred to the support of the National Government, the Minister of Housing, Catalina Velasco During the event, he said that Santa Marta is one of the four cities that are part of the National Government’s strategic project “drinking water for cities with high deficits” worth 4.5 billion pesos.
