The Rajaleñas Departmental Children’s Meeting “Ulysses Charry and José Antonio Cuéllar Rumichaca Adults” concluded with great success, standing out as a vibrant tribute to the cultural traditions of the Opita people.

The event, held as part of the San Pedro festivities, brought together young talents who demonstrated their skills in playing the tiple and the rajaleña. Inspired by the legacy of Ulises Charry, a virtuoso performer and tireless defender of local customs, the participants shared their passion for country music and the rich cultural heritage of the north of the department.

During the meeting, the participation of Annie Alejandra Osorio, a member of the group “Los Zurumbáticos de Garzón”, stood out, who expressed: “Our group is recent, we are 8 people and we have instruments such as the requinto and the tiple. This meeting was the perfect opportunity to show our talent.”

The enthusiasm and dedication of the children and adolescents, guided by adult artists, reflected a deep commitment to the preservation and dissemination of the Rajaleñas. Additionally, boys and girls of all ages captivated the public with their talent, reaffirming the commitment of the new generations to the preservation of their cultural heritage.
