Cuba ratifies its solidarity with the people of the world in the field of Health

Later, in his exchange with Dennis Francis, the Minister highlighted the human and social impact represented by the work of the International Contingent of Doctors Specialized in Disaster Situations and Serious Epidemics “Henry Reeve”, which since September 19, 2005 has provided countless examples of solidarity and internationalism to thousands of people on the planet. These programs, he recalled, were intensified in the most complex times of confronting the Covid-19 Pandemic.

As part of the dialogue at the Minsap, they also exchanged about the work of the Latin American School of Medicine (ELAM), a work that, Portal Miranda highlighted, «has benefited more than 120 countries in the world, through the comprehensive training of general physicians who contribute to the solution of the most pressing needs and to the sustainable human development of their communities.and“of origin.”

For his part, in his second visit to the nation and the first in his current position, the President of the General Assembly of the United Nations Organization praised the legacy of the historical leader of the Revolution, Fidel Castro Ruz, and his invariable solidarity with the least developed nations.

He also highlighted the importance of cooperation in health as essential for sustained progress, prosperity and the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals.
