The traditional event organized by the Eeaoc will take place on Wednesday morning, at the headquarters of the Rural Society.

As every year and consecutively, the 27th edition of the Soybean Varieties and Management Workshop will be held on Wednesday, organized by the Grains program of the Obispo Colombres Agroindustrial Experimental Station (Eeaoc). The event will take place at the Rural Society of Tucumán (Camino del Perú 1050, Yerba Buena), from the morning until around noon.

Eeaoc technicians will address a wide spectrum of topics related to the last campaign (2023/2024) in the province, as well as studies of various agricultural cycles of the oilseed. “It is an excellent opportunity for interested parties to update themselves on the latest practices and technologies in soybean cultivation,” said the organizers of the event, who invite the entire soybean sector to participate.

Diary

This technical workshop, whose central axis will be the vision of soybeans within the grain system, as well as the biodiversity and sustainability of this system, will begin with an analysis of the agrometeorological conditions in the soybean campaign for the province of Tucumán. It will then continue with the presentation and analysis of the results of the NOA Commercial Cultivar Network and with the evaluations on the use of extra early (IV) maturity group (GM) varieties.

It will continue with an exhibition on the use and results of new bioinputs, and there will also be a space for crop alternatives with potential inclusion in our sequences. There will be presentations of economic analysis of different sequences of grains and the results of the survey to qualified informants, carried out on producers in the province, on the comprehensive management carried out in their production lots.

This will be the starting point for entering into the topic of biodiversity and sustainability of our fields, which will cover geographic studies related to the nutrition of the plots, the diversity in the agroecosystems of the Tucumán grain area and evaluations of the microbiology of our productive soils.

The block will conclude with a block on sanitary management, where determinations of the quality of the seed from the last harvest, management and control of the main diseases, evolution and susceptibility of the measuring caterpillar, as well as weed management both in crops and in the current fallow period prior to the new soybean campaign will be presented.
