After important meetings, launching of products and services, presentation of the potential of the territories, exchange of entrepreneurs, all aimed at promoting the development and well-being of the people and paying special attention to the Millennium Development Goals, the 19th International Fair ExpoCaribe 2024 presented its awards this Friday at the Heredia cultural center in Santiago de Cuba.

Among those honored were the Multi-Shelf Production Roof System from the company Ondutil Italiana Spa, which deserved the Quality Award, as well as BRASARDE Charcoal from the Gran Piedra Baconao Agroforestry Company from Cuba.

Likewise, the Food Jury selected Ron Caney Añejo Centuria, from Multiservi SA, produced by Cuba Ron SA, based on the results of its evaluations at the exhibition site, the tests carried out and evidenced, and the commitment to quality.

Cuba Ron, for its part, won the award for Technological Innovation with the Isla Granda product. It consists of 4 different assortments of extra-aged rums, registered with the OCPI in Cuba and in more than 61 countries with an Integrated Management System, according to quality standards. It shows an innovative conception in its production process, since by knowing its market and its target audience, it allows them a model of producing less with greater profits with consequent financial and energy savings.

An innovative concept based on the island’s own rum culture that takes advantage of the knowledge of master rum makers and makes the unique flavour of each part of the country, west, centre and east, and turns them into an exclusive line for a luxury market segment.

It is a product that is exported and contributes to the national substitution and export program, which has been able to adapt to the complex socioeconomic, global and national context that hopes to contribute 5 thousand euros to the country. This rum increases profitability and profits by 25 to 30% more compared to the sale of white rums and more than 30% in 21 years of Ron Santiago.

For its part, the jury of the Cuban Association of Social Communicators (ACCS) selected among the files presented by the exhibitors to award the Expo Caribe 2024 Communication Award to the company Laboratorios Farmacéuticos Oriente.

Meanwhile, Havana Club Internacional, Cervecería Bucanero SA and the Commercial Office of Trinidad and Tobago Export T&T deserved the laurels of the Organizing Committee.

The 19th edition of the ExpoCaribe 2024 International Fair has demonstrated Cuba’s cooperation in integration, benefiting the economic development of the countries in the area, becoming a platform for integration and promotion of trade, investment and tourism. Santiago de Cuba has once again been the perfect host with its mix of history and tradition.
