The Secretary of Tourism, Environment and Sports, Daniel Scioli, and the Undersecretary of Environment, Ana Lamas, held a meeting today with the head of the National Institute of Statistics and Censuses (INDEC), Marco Lavagna, in which they discussed management issues common to both organisms.
The meeting discussed the importance of considering the environmental and social impact in the field of investments and compliance with current international commitments. In this regard, technical aspects were discussed regarding the relevance of integrating businesses in a sustainable manner and other aspects of common interest such as digitalization, which influences economic and financial issues of foreign trade.
In addition, topics related to international measurement methodologies in relation to natural resources and the necessary coordination in Argentina’s environmental accounts, which INDEC is currently developing, and which include sustainability issues, were addressed.
The meeting was attended by Lorena Scioli, representing the Ministry of Tourism, Environment and Sports; Nicolás García Romero, National Director of Strategic Environmental Planning; and Juan Rodrigo Walsh, representing the Undersecretariat of the Environment of the Nation; and Pablo Ceballos, National Director of the National Statistical System of INDEC.
