With the purpose of promoting mining and energy development, Catamarca Minera y Energética Sociedad del Estado (CAMYEN SE) and the company World Metals Alloys (WMA), incorporated under the laws of the United Arab Emirates, signed an exploration agreement with an option to mineral exploitation in the Antofagasta de la Sierra department. This new mining project promises an investment in the Puna of Catamarca.

The signing of the agreement, held at the Government House, was attended by Governor Raúl Jalil. The event was led by Vimal Kumar Mohanlal, managing director of World Metals Alloys and Susana Peralta, president of the board of directors of CAMYEN. Also participating were Vice Governor Rubén Dusso; the Minister of Mining, Marcelo Murúa; and Pramod Kumar Prusty, Partner, World Metals Alloys.

The agreement establishes a key collaboration for the exploration and eventual exploitation of the mining area known as “Campo Blanco” in Antofagasta de la Sierra.

This area, which covers approximately 7,500 hectares, is the subject of a search requested by CAMYEN and includes the petitions for the “Campo Blanco II, III, IV, Aguas Blancas I” mines.

The agreement arises after a public bidding process that ended without viable proposals, leading CAMYEN to consider World Metals Alloys for its technical and financial capacity, with the aim of attracting investment and employment to the region, for the benefit of the local economy.

This project seeks to promote the sustainable use of natural resources, the development of local mining and environmental conservation, in line with the social and economic development of the Puna region of Catamarca.

In another meeting, Governor Raúl Jalil received representatives of the Sancor Group, who provided information on environmental and related advice, focused on the needs of the mining sector in the province.

Participating in the meeting were María Inés Suárez, from the Amparo Organization and broker of the Sancor Seguros Group, who was present along with the company’s specialists.
