A new production line of socks for diabetics, which prevents the formation of ulcers and combats dryness in the foot by keeping it breathable, is being developed by the joint venture Mediatex SA, according to a report by ACN.

According to Joan Barroso Abril, head of the Cuban-Irish company’s Commercial Group, these garments are beneficial for the care of their skin, which tends to become more sensitive.

He also said that it prevents other problems for the patient, because the cuff was made in such a way that it does not squeeze the ankles or calves and, therefore, does not affect blood circulation in the lower limbs.

The product description states that the tights are woven, composed of 60% long-staple combed cotton, while the other 40% is made of polyamide microfiber.

The product also combats irritations, psoriasis and the formation of varicose veins and other circulatory disorders in the legs, added Barroso Abril.

With our products, diabetics can have on hand the necessary garment to avoid other complications that the disease brings with it, he noted.

Within the Health line, declared the Head of the Mediatex Commercial Group, stockings are also produced to protect joints, which are used in physiotherapy rooms and sports schools, to help recover from injuries in the areas of the wrists, knees and ankles.
