The Civil Aeronautics of Colombia reported that the Italian airline Neos Air was designated to provide regular passenger services on routes between Italy and Colombia.

The announcement is in line with that made by the Italian Embassy, who, through a letter addressed to the Colombian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, announced that the National Civil Aviation Authority (Enac) chose Neos Air to form its operations in Colombia.facilitate air connections between the two countries.
“The Italian Embassy wishes to inform on behalf of the National Civil Aviation Authority (ENAC), based on current agreements, that the airline Neos SpA has been designated to provide scheduled passenger services on routes between Italy and Colombia.”the letter mentions.
Aerocivil, in addition to celebrating this designation, indicated that it will proceed to materialize it in order to advance its purpose “consolidate Colombia as the gateway to South America.” However, the exact date on which this airline would begin operations has not yet been confirmed.

The news confirms the message sent by President Gustavo Petro through his X account in which he announces that There will be direct flights between Colombia and Italy with Neos Air.
Neos Air, according to its website, began operations in 2001 and in 2004 they inaugurated their long-distance flights. The airline’s operational bases are in Milan-Malpensa Verona, Bologna and Rome.
The airline offers scheduled flights from Italy to the Caribbean, Africa, Canada, China, Kazakhstan, India, the Middle East, Northern Europe, the Indian Ocean and the Atlantic Islands, and the Mediterranean.
