The Bambuco Festival in San Juan and San Pedro continues to move forward, and today, June 28, one of the most anticipated events will be held: the traditional goat parade.

This event is notable for the participation of the bus escalators, a typical Colombian means of transport that is creatively decorated to enhance the parade every year.

The parade not only features the eye-catching goats, but also with various delegations of municipalities in the departmentkeeping alive a tradition that has lasted more than 35 years since it was started by the HJKK radio station.

Chivas are not only decorated vehicles, but they also carry agricultural products characteristic of the countryside such as bananas and yucca, and Colombian elements, such as sewing machines, old bicycles, baskets, pailones and packages.

The parade is scheduled for 3:00 in the afternoon and will take place on Avenida Circunvalar, starting at the Mother Earth monument in southern Neiva and ending near the El Tizón bridge.

Following the end of the Chiva parade, another important event is expected next Sunday: the folkloric parade, in which the candidates for the national contest will participate and which will conclude the events on Avenida Circunvalar.
