The great Primathon begins throughout Bucaramanga

With the days without VAT remaining, Fenalco announced the launch of Primatón, an initiative designed to reactivate trade and generate interest among customers in investing the premium in local shopping centres.

The day in which more than 200 commercial brands make massive discounts began last Friday, June 28, and runs until Monday, July 1. And in all the shopping centers of ‘the beautiful city’ there will be discounts from 20% to 60% on brands of footwear, clothing, appliances and even restaurants in the food plazas.

Citizens will be able to identify with a purple and green Primatón seal all the businesses that join this initiative and that will be available both in physical points and in virtual channels.

The star was a ‘millionaire’

The president of Fenalco Santander, Alejandro Almeyda, revealed that the triumph of the ‘Leopardo’ team had a positive impact on formal commerce and was the cause of an increase in sales between 16% and 30%. In addition, “more than 700 million pesos were raised just from the purchase of Atlético Bucaramanga t-shirts in official stores,” added Almeyda.

Precisely, for this ‘long’ weekend it is expected that the money raised will be proportional to the efforts that each of the locals are making. The fever for the Colombian National Team, its merchandise and matches became the standard bearers for families to come to stores, watch the game and give each other ‘a little love’.

Benefits and rewards

One of the great benefits that commercial establishments offer is focused on charging for parking. For example, the Caracolí Shopping Center gives users two free hours for purchases over 120 thousand pesos.

In the case of the Mega Mall Shopping Center, there will be a raffle for three original Colombian National Team jerseys for customers who register their invoice with a value equal to or greater than 150 thousand pesos.

Additionally, this first edition of the primatón reaches the provincial capitals. In Barrancabermeja, the San Silvestre Shopping Center will also offer important offers, as will the El Puente Shopping Center, located in San Gil.

All faith in ‘the national team’

Both formal and informal merchants have pinned their hopes on the good performance of ‘the tricolor’ in the Copa América. On the part of entertainment establishments, a match day sells 30% more than any other date. Football rubs shoulders with big commercial dates like love and friendship, Mother’s Day and Father’s Day.

Meanwhile, the sale of items such as T-shirts of all colours, pennants, caps, vuvuzelas and other products used by fans to support the national team are the mainstay for informal traders.

Throughout the metropolitan area, on bridges, roundabouts, in the occasional bay and on the highway itself, people who can find a way set up their stalls. With prices between 20,000 and 120,000 pesos, they aim to make these first days of July their good ‘August’.

Do you have the new one yet?

Ricardo Santafe and Fabián Estévez are two merchants who dedicate their days to the love of the Colombian National Team at the roundabout in the Mutis neighborhood, right next to the softball field. From 9:00 in the morning until 6:30 in the afternoon, they offer the shirts that James Rodríguez and ‘Luchito’ Díaz wear in the Copa América matches. You can negotiate with them the price of the black away jersey (priced at 75 thousand pesos) or the classic, not-so-classic one, yellow with bright orange accents (priced at 80 thousand pesos). He also has the shirt that was but was not, which is yellow with tricolor trim and a blue collar, whose value is 55 thousand pesos. On the other hand, they offer the cornet for 15 thousand pesos.
