Granma’s largest market closes deals at Expocaribe 2024

Santiago de Cuba, Jun 28 (ACN) The Jesús Menéndez agricultural market in Bayamo, Granma province, present for the first time at the Expocaribe 2024 International Fair, is consolidating business relations with national and foreign companies, with a view to exporting the products it offers.

Ángel Luis Ramírez, head of that labor collective, told the Cuban News Agency exclusively about the signing of two letters of intent, the first with representatives from Turkey, with the goal of exporting five quintals of pineapple monthly, highly valued in that country.

The so-called queen of fruits is harvested in Granma territory and we have the facility to directly contract the producers who will guarantee its cultivation, he said.

He also signed the agreement with Uganda, an East African country interested in the banana fruit of the great dwarf variety, with good production in the southeastern locality and great possibilities for marketing it.

Jesús Menéndez is the largest market in Granma, so participation in Expocaribe represents and makes the province known, in order to achieve better development in the community, he said.

He assured that the objective of seeking trade actions with foreigners to contribute to the development of the territory has been met, and contracts were also made in the national system with companies such as Palmares Santiago de Cuba and entities from Holguín, focused mainly on fruits and reduce imports.
