A popular marathon will be held in Santiago de Cuba on July 4 to celebrate the 43rd edition of the Caribbean Festival, which will take place in this city from July 3 to 9, dedicated to the state of Bahia, in Brazil.

The Casa del Caribe, a scientific institution located in the Vista Alegre district and which organizes the also known as Fire Festival, invites all those who wish to compete in the race, which is an initiative, that is, a novelty in the Festival program.

“We have decided that the event will now remain on the agenda of upcoming Caribbean festivals,” said Victor Sigué, communications specialist at Casa, one of the organizers of the event.

The source added that together with the Casa del Caribe, the competition is sponsored and supported by the Lobey Art & Travel Agency, and added that the start of the race is scheduled for 8:30 a.m. on July 4, with the following itinerary:

Starting point: Casa del Caribe, on 13th Street, between Manduley Avenue and 8th Street, in Vista Alegre; Vista Alegre Roundabout, Rafael Manduley Avenue, Victoriano Garzón Avenue, Plaza de Marte, Victoriano Garzón Avenue, Ferreiro, Rafael Manduley Avenue, to Casa del Caribe.

“The first 43 registrants will receive a participation medal and will also be invited to march on July 5, in the traditional Serpent Parade, from Plaza de Marte to Parque Céspedes,” said Sigué.
