Nacho Torres explained that “there is an agenda of fiscal federalism that is not being taken into account. In a few days there will be news about the twinning of the provinces, not only those in Patagonia, to propose an agenda of fiscal federalism.”

“Chubut will be at the forefront of this proposal for a fairer matrix and to decentralize once and for all those coffers of the Central Government that have an impressive voracity for tax collection and do not offer any kind of solution to the people.”

On the other hand, and in relation to the approval of the return of the fourth category of earnings, Governor Torres remarked that “we expressed ourselves against it, all the deputies of Chubut voted against it, which is important.”

“Then there is a constitutional dilemma due to the fact that a chapter was voted on in only one Chamber, without being ratified by the Senate. Many of us consider it to be unconstitutional, but it is a dilemma that will end up in court.”

“We understand that this is a violent blow to the workers and, on top of that, without taking into account the asymmetries that had been modified in the Senate, and in the House of Representatives, not only was this modification that contemplated an unfavorable area ignored and was a principle, an act of justice to correct these asymmetries, but it was rejected outright.”

“All of Patagonia voted against it. We have to see how this issue that is already in the courts moves forward. There is an issue of jurisdiction, but we understand that it will be the courts that will end up making the decision.”
