Special morning sessions, recreational activities and the delivery of recognition to the most outstanding are part of the celebrations in Ciego de Ávila on June 28 for Transport Worker’s Day, which will extend until next July 4, in the middle of the organic process by the XXII Congress of the Cuban Workers’ Central (CTC).

This was announced to Radio Surco by Roberto Raúl Gil Pérez, General Secretary of the Provincial Bureau of the Union of Transport and Port Workers, who added that at the end of the day the José María Pérez Capote distinction will be presented to 30 members with a long and fruitful career.

Prominent entities of that union in the Avilanian territory will also be encouraged, while the group of the Puerto Casasa Base Business Unit will receive the distinction that accredits them as national outstanding.

Olga Gener Pérez, Transport delegate in Ciego de Ávila, listed among the main actions carried out by the transporters of this province the maintenance of basic services, such as the transfer to Havana and Camagüey of hemodialysis and oncology patients with medical appointments, and the support to the anti-vector campaign.

The representative of the minister in the Ciego de Ávila territory praised the sustained work and participation of the Aniristas in solving specific problems, which has allowed them to put into practice alternatives in the face of the lack of spare parts and pieces, and the deficit of other resources.

Gener Pérez sent a congratulatory message to all transporters in his day, established by Commander in Chief Fidel Castro Ruz in 1971, during a National Plenary of union leaders and officials of the sector.
