Starting this Sunday, June 30, drivers traveling from Cali to Candelaria, Florida, Pradera and municipalities in northern Cauca will be able to circulate uninterruptedly on the bridges and roads of the Juanchito Comprehensive and Functional Mobility Solution, made available. community service to ensure connectivity.
This was reported by the Secretary of Infrastructure of Valle, Frank Ramírez, when pointing out that a process to respond to the mobility needs in Juanchito is culminating, “an area in which we have been working tirelessly to complete each of the proposed milestones, this is how for a few months now we have fully enabled the north and south roads of the new bridge, and we are working so that milestone 3, which corresponds to the old bridge, which will have exclusive access to Ciudad del Campo and Urbanización Pereira, also becomes a reality, it is planned to meet the established date.”
Of the 12 components that are part of the Comprehensive and Functional Mobility Solution in Juanchito, component number 1, which corresponds to the new bridge, the north and south lanes are enabled, each with two fast flow lanes, and one incorporation, in addition to the accesses to the bridge that connect on one side with the Cali-Candelaria dual carriageway and, on the other, with the eighth road on the Cali side.
During the development of the project, the access ramp that will allow the incorporation of vehicles coming from Ciudad del Campo and Urbanización Pereira, in addition to two roads, one that goes from Via Candelaria to the “Y” and the access road to these two neighborhoods, which is already completely rehabilitated, will be fully functional for vehicle traffic on the north side of the road. In addition, on the Cali side, the access road to the Alfonso López gallery is ready, with a connection to Avenida Ciudad de Cali.
On the south side of the new bridge, the interchange connecting the auxiliary lane of Carrera Octava on the Cali side with the old bridge is enabled; as well as the access road in the Cali-Ciudad del Campo direction, which includes the maintenance of the 800 meters of the old ‘Carlos Holguín Lloreda’ bridge.
Cycle route
Due to the damage caused by external contractors during the change of water and sewer networks on one of the fronts of the Comprehensive Solution, the delivery of the connection of the Cycle Route will be compromised, since it affected the passage through the reinforced concrete pontoon, which allows cars and motorcycles to travel under the new bridge.
“Due to the various situations that are public knowledge, which occurred by chance where there was an impact on the water and sewage networks, at that exact point where the entrance to Ciudad del Campo is located, there will be some things pending to be fixed, such as, for example, what will prevent the cycle path from being enabled at that time. But it is important to clarify that we will continue working so that the passage can also be enabled as soon as possible,” Ramírez explained.
To confirm that Juanchito’s Comprehensive and Functional Solution has the best quality standards, the Government of the Valley will carry out rigorous supervision of each of the components to verify that they comply with what was contracted.
