The Tarapacá Regional Presidential Delegation organized the citizen workshop “Femicide and violence against women” to inform and raise awareness in the community about these issues. The event was attended by speakers from the Seremi for Women and Gender Equality, the National Service for Women and Gender Equality, and the Regional Unit for Attention to Victims and Witnesses (Uravit) of the regional prosecutor’s office.

The workshop included presentations by various experts. Noemí Salinas, regional minister for Women and Gender Equality, addressed “Gender violence, how it is expressed and how to provide an initial welcome to victims.” Paula Fortte, regional coordinator for public security of the Undersecretariat for Crime Prevention, explained “How to report gender violence and why it is important to do so.”

Paula Arancibia, from Uravit, presented on “Who to turn to for assistance and protection of victims and witnesses of gender violence.” Rosa Hernández, from the National Service for Women and Gender Equality, detailed “The public offer to address gender violence,” and Nicolás Bravo, advisor to the Presidential Delegation, discussed “Femicide in contexts of organized crime.”
