SEN situation for June 29, 2024

Yesterday the service was affected due to a deficit in generation capacity in the SEN 24 hours a day, managing to be restored at 03:41 in the morning today. The maximum impact on the day was 1,138 MW at 8:30 p.m., coinciding with peak hour. Higher than planned due to demand above by 72 MW.

The availability of the SEN at 07:00 hours is 2160 MW, the demand is 2250 MW with an impact of 135 MW. A maximum impact of 450 MW is estimated for midday.

The Guiteras CTE unit, Renté CTE unit 6, Santa Cruz CTE unit 2 (in the process of starting up) and Felton CTE unit 2 are in disrepair. Santa Cruz CTE unit 1 is undergoing maintenance.

Thermal generation is limited to 364 MW. 45 distributed generation plants and the Santiago de Cuba power plant are out of service due to fuel, for a total of 279 MW affected by this concept.

For the peak, the entry of Distributed Generation engines that are out for fuel is estimated at 100 MW, the recovery of 50 MW in the Santiago dump and the entry of unit 2 of the CTE Santa Cruz at 65 MW.

With this forecast, an availability of 2,310 MW and a maximum demand of 3,100 MW are estimated for peak hour, for a deficit of 790 MW, so if the forecast conditions continue, an impact of 860 MW is forecast during this time.
