The humanitarian crisis in Cauca continues to grow due to the violent actions of illegal armed groups, who kill civilians amid the efforts made by the Public Force to protect the lives of the people of this region of the country.
In the last few hours it was learned that the community leader Eyber Danilo Poto Pazú was murdered by dissidents of the Farc after being kidnapped. Poto Pazú was a recognized leader of the community of the San Francisco reservation, located in the municipality of Toribío.
According to the Institute for Development and Peace, Indepaz, this leader was the son of the vice minister of ethnic peoples and Nasa leader Nelson Lemus.

It should be remembered that the victim was kidnapped by members of the Dagoberto Ramos front of the FARC on June 22. while he was moving through the El Tierrero sector, Toribío, according to Mauricio Lectamo, member of the Regional Indigenous Council of Cauca, Cric.
“This community member was kidnapped by Commander “Pájaro” and “Avelino Ul”, members of the Dagoberto Ramos Front, in the El Tierrero area of the municipality of Caloto. Since then, the whereabouts of community member Eyber Danilo have been unknown and, despite the efforts of the indigenous authorities and his family, his return home has not been achieved,” was the message shared by the members of the Cric at the time.
As a result of this situation, the authorities and the guard began the respective controls in this municipality, as well as in the neighboring towns of Caloto, Jambaló and Corinto.
After, In the early hours of this Friday, June 28, they found the body of Eyber Danilo Poto Pazú on the main road of the Tóez reservation, in the rural area of the municipality of Caloto.
“Despite all the efforts, we were not able to rescue the friend, who was taken to this road, which connects this municipality with Corinto, and then murdered him with a coup de grace,” added Mauricio Lectamo.
After confirming this murder, and thanks to the information provided by Indepaz, It was revealed that the victim was an indigenous leader and the son of a national government official.
