In a massive celebration for the 69th anniversary of the creation of the province of Chubut, the governor Ignacio “Nacho” Torresled the central event at the “Héroes de Malvinas” Municipal Gymnasium in the beach town of Playa Unión, and addressed a few words to the hundreds of residents present who came to share a true popular festival.

“This day is very important because it allows us to learn about our history,” Torres said at the beginning of his speech, adding: “I find it very exciting to see that we have such a beautiful, diverse and rich province, a province that makes us feel truly proud of being from Chubut.”

In this regard, the governor said that “it is essential to teach the new generations about our province and the different regions that comprise it, its productive, tourist and industrial areas,” because “each locality gives us a sense of belonging and enriches that Chubut identity.”

“The flag unites us”

On the other hand, Torres also highlighted in his speech that “the best way to defend ourselves is to be fully aware of all the potential we have” and highlighted that “the resource that made Chubut one of the most thriving provinces in Argentina is our people. ”. Likewise, he also expressed that “no one can come and take away the joy of celebrating our culture, our origins and our identity.”

“We have to put an end to regionalism so that no one can come and divide us as Chubut people,” he said, and spoke of the importance of “all of us becoming brothers, from the smallest commune to the largest city.”

Finally, Torres concluded by saying that in this search for unity, “the flag that always unites us is that of the province of Chubut,” and he called on each of the neighbors to always be “back to back,” defending “what is ours, the resources and rights of all Chubut residents.”

He also announced that “starting today we will begin a public competition open to the entire community so that Chubut has what other provinces have, which is its own provincial anthem.”

In this regard, the governor highlighted the open nature of the call and said that, based on this type of expressions, “we are going to continue strengthening and reclaiming the pride of being Chubutans.”
