The train route connecting Sancti Spíritus with Havana will be reactivated at the beginning of July, with several stops in five provinces and the service will be offered every four days, according to the state media Escambray.

This is the scheduled frequency so far, according to the authorities of the Ministry of Transport, who set a deadline for restarting services before July 26.

Initially, tickets can be reserved at the offices of the Passengers’ Office at the railway terminal in this territory, as well as at the inter-municipal one and, later, at a new office at the National Bus Terminal in the capital.

It turns out that this route has historically had a high demand, especially in the next summer period, therefore, it has been decided to reactivate the connection, not only during the summer months, but throughout the year, stated the transport entities of this central territory.

Despite the announcement of this route between the Cuban capital and Sancti Spíritus, the cars in which the passengers will travel are still in San Luis, Santiago de Cuba, with the aim of checking technical details and enabling a safe and smooth service.

In addition to this, the works on the Nela Bridge, within the city of Sancti Spiritus, with the guarantee of safety in this section of the railway, but it is likely that it will not yet be ready for the start of the service. If delayed, the alternative is the train departure from Guayos or Zaza del Medio, a point where passengers would arrive by bus.
