Professor Carlos Maximiliano Fernández Mesa, a methodologist for the Nursing School at the University of Medical Sciences of Granma, was murdered at his residence in Manzanillo, Granma. The university community and the Cuban Nursing Society deeply regret his death, highlighting his dedication and commitment to the training of health professionals.
The incident, which occurred around 7pm on Thursday, has shocked the city. Sources indicate that the crime could be related to a passionate motive, since Fernández Mesa, who was gay, was found with several blows to the face and his dog hanged in the bathroom. A neighbor reported seeing a tall, dark-skinned man leaving the home.
The university has expressed its condolences to the family of Professor Fernández Mesa, highlighting the positive impact of his work on the educational community and his lasting legacy.
The perpetrator of this unfortunate murder is still unknown.
