Although the calm was the predominant note during a night of massive attendance in the streets of Haro, which was preparing to host the traditional Wine Battle, at around five in the morning a man was attacked with a knife near the Iguaku bar, located in the old part of the town.

The victim, as this newspaper has learned, is precisely the owner of that establishment. The man received a knife wound to the side of the chest. Police and medical personnel quickly moved to the scene. The injured man had to be transferred to Logroño, to the San Pedro hospital, where he is currently admitted to the Intensive Medicine Unit (ICU) although, according to regional government sources, his life is not in danger.

At the moment there is one person detained, a male of Spanish nationality, as the alleged perpetrator of the events.
