The governor of Córdoba, Erasmus Zuleta Becharainaugurated the 47th edition of the National Joint Festivalin the municipality of San Pelayo, and also announced its internationalization.

During his public intervention he highlighted how important it is to make the international leap in this event to open its doors to the participation and presence of artists and visitors from all over the world.
“Long live the National Porro Festival! From today, an entire country unites around culture and one of the most important musical manifestations of our department and the Colombian Caribbean: the porro pelayero. Welcome everyone to the 47th version of this traditional party, a tribute to the 69 years of the University of Cordoba“said the president in his speech at the Simón Bolívar Park in the ‘World Capital of Marijuana.'”

Zuleta Bechara added that the joint festival is a festivity of an entire department and the country. “These celebrations make me proud, they are our identity,” he emphasized.
The programming for this Saturday, June 29 in San Pelayo began at 4:00 in the morning with the dawn pelayera musical which ended at 6:00 with the Gran Banda Pelayera on the María Varilla stage.
