July arrives with a lot of cold in Corrientes

June bids farewell to Corrientes with temperatures close to 0. Winter is making itself felt throughout the province and the National Meteorological Service predicts very low temperatures for this weekend.

It is due to the entry of a polar air mass into the continental territory, which will cause “thermal marks” to drop to a minimum in the north and center of the country.

In this regard, the SMN issued a yellow alert for extreme cold for a large part of the province. This Saturday, the city of Corrientes woke up with 5 degrees, and a maximum of only 13 degrees is expected.

While for this Sunday a minimum temperature of 3 degrees and fog in the morning is forecast. The maximum would be 15 degrees, with no chance of rain. The conditions would remain until Monday, July 1 in northern Corrientes. Starting on Tuesday the 2nd, the thermometer marks will rise a few degrees, however this will not last long since next weekend the extreme cold will return again.

The national body indicates that in this case the cold can cause mild to moderate effects on health. “Extreme temperatures can be dangerous, especially for risk groups, such as children, people over 65 years of age, and those with chronic diseases,” it warns.
