Fuel will increase its price by 4% starting this Monday in Jujuy As confirmed by the Chamber of Fuel Suppliers, long queues at service stations are expected for the weekend.
Likewise, they explained that The increase will be 45 pesos per liter and this is largely due to the increase in the prices of biofuels for blending, thus bringing the price of Super gasoline to approximately 1,064 pesos.
In this regard and regarding possible increases for the second half of the year, the Chamber indicated that the price depends largely on the cost of the dollar and the different measures that can be taken by the National Government.
Fall in fuel sales
This situation occurs in a context of a drop in fuel sales, which in April was the lowest in 34 months with a decrease of 13.7% year-on-year. This decline is attributed to the internal economic recession and the price difference with neighboring countries, which has led many residents of border areas to cross the border to refuel. Gasoline had a drop of 11.4% year-on-year, being more pronounced in premium gasoline (-24.2%) compared to super gasoline (-6.8%). Diesel showed a drop of 16.5%, with a greater decrease in common (-19.1%) than in premium (-10.7%).
Despite the adverse situation, some provinces such as the Autonomous City of Buenos Aires (CABA) and Río Negro registered increases in fuel sales, while the rest of the jurisdictions saw significant contractions.
