In the early hours of this Saturday (June 29) a fire broke out in a house located in the La Cumbre neighborhood, where five people were affected by smoke inhalationwho were assessed on site and then transferred to the Ospedale clinic for the respective medical examination.

Carlos Iván Arévalo, commander (E) of the Official Fire Department of Manizales, indicates that “two machines, two ambulances and a tank truck arrived at the scene to control the structural fire. The witnesses reported that there were 3 people on the terrace, but later, they managed to leave the house and, in the attempt to control the fire, they inhaled the smoke, resulting in their health being affected.

Besides, Three pets were rescued by members of the fire department, which belong to this family. The hypotheses of the origin of the fire are yet to be established, apparently it was due to a short circuit or a candle, for this reason, members of the Fire Investigation Office of the firefighters will go to the place to determine the true cause.

So far in June, three structural fires have been reported in the capital of Caldas in the Fundadores, San Sebastián and La Cumbre neighborhoods.
