Steven Berbesí Bermúdez, alias “Titi”, hitman and leader of the armed criminal wing “Carlos Pecueca”, who was on the most wanted list, was captured by the Metropolitan Police of Cúcuta.
Through search actions carried out by the SIJIN in coordination with Prosecutor’s Office 16, specialized against homicide, his arrest was achieved in the Cuberos Niño neighborhood.
In addition to his hitman actions, “Titi” led drug trafficking in commune 10 of the city of Cúcuta. At the time of the arrest, a firearm, revolver type, ammunition and a cell phone were seized.
With this arrest, the authorities specify in a statement, four homicides recorded in 2022 are clarified: That of Carlos Sánchez, alias “Duende”, which occurred on July 1 in the Las Vegas sector; Bayoron Rodríguez, alias “Coco”, on October 21 in Cuberos Niño.
The other two homicides linked to “Titi” are those of Víctor Chinome, in the Cuberos Niño neighborhood on October 28, 2022, and that of Ariel Soto, on November 10 at the Porvenir court.
The dangerous criminal is currently being held in a city jail. /Jonathan Maldonado
