The Archaeological Museum of Córdoba, dependent on the Ministry of Tourism, Culture and Sports, has scheduled workshops for children and families for the month of July under the title Vacations at the Museum. Specifically, they will take place on the 2nd, 4th, 14th, 16th, 18th and 28th of that month, at 11:00 a.m., as reported by the Culture delegate, Eduardo Lucena. Places are limited and prior reservation is required through the museum’s website.

Coinciding with this event, the Archaeological Museum is moving away from the stereotypical image of the treasure hunter that has been attributed to archaeology professionals. This workshop, which will take place on an archaeology site, will show participants how archaeological science requires training, prior studies and rigorous scientific documentation.
Museum of Fine Arts
For its part, the Museum of Fine Arts of Córdoba has programmed three family and children’s workshops with educational activities under the title Summer at the Museum. These activities will focus on different topics related to museum collections, with the aim of disseminating them in an educational and fun way and bringing the museum closer to citizens.
The workshop Art Details invites attendees to paint on polymer discs some detail of paintings from the museum that will then be enameled and a magnet placed on them to create personalized souvenirs. The workshop Composing a painting It will allow participants to compose their own painting similar to those of Julio Romero de Torres, based on die-cut silhouettes with some of the most significant figures in the work of this painter.
For its part, Watercolor portraits proposes an approach to this pictorial technique that will allow the creation of works of art taking as a reference the portraits shown in the temporary exhibition on Mateo Inurria.
The workshops will take place on Wednesdays, July 3, 10 and 17 and on Fridays, July 5, 12 and 19, at 11:00. Reservations can be made for that same week on the website www.conocetupatrimonio.com starting Monday.
