In greeting to Worker’s Day Transport and the 53rd anniversary of the constitution of their union, in Matanzas, recognized outstanding groups and those who individually fulfill the state mandate of the sector.
The celebration took place in the Freedom Park of the Yumurina city and was chaired by the First Secretary of the Party in the province Mario Sabines Lorenzo and the Governor Marieta Poey Zamora.
On behalf of the National Secretariat of the Transport and Port Workers Union José Edelio Valdés gave recognition to the Matanzas transporters for being a province that stands out in union work. In the same way, they were entertained by the Central Workers of Cuba and the political and mass organizations in the territory.
Despite the complexities facing the sector in Matanzas, its workers remain committed to improving services for the summer season.
Camilo Ernesto Oquendo, Provincial Deputy Director, said that Matanzas transporters will simultaneously continue to work in the districts, in food production and in the assigned health areas.
Matanzas transporters also have among their most urgent tasks to reduce the prices of private transportation and recover a greater number of vehicles in their vehicle fleet; work in which they are immersed as part of the commitments of their provincial union towards the 22nd congress of the CTC.
