Around 10:30 pm on Friday, June 28, the community of El Bagre reported hearing gunshots. Immediately, the mayor of the municipality, Marco Fidel Trespalacios, contacted the colonel of the Los Guaduales Military Base, who confirmed the harassment.
Regarding the incident, Trespalacios said that there were no injuries. “Fortunately, there were bursts of gunfire, 15 to 20 shots. There were no new deaths or injuries to any member of the National Army,” he said. It is worth mentioning that It is unknown which armed group carried out this action.

There it was stated that the businesses should close and even threatened people who circulated.

Given this situation, the municipal leader denounced that The confined citizens are hungry and that is why they called on the National Government. “There is already hunger in the town. Tell the National Government to reach out to us, because people are scared, people are afraid,” he stressed.
It is worth mentioning that before the harassment occurred in Bagre, The community of Puerto López held a march, in which more than a thousand people participated. There people demanded security to be able to carry out their daily tasks.

For its part, The Government of Antioquia will carry out a comprehensive intervention this weekend in the town of Puerto López, in the municipality of El Bagre, after the commitment made last Tuesday by Governor Andrés Julián Rendón, due to the intimidation of the community by illegal armed groups.
