In addition, the level of alcohol in the blood will determine whether or not the vehicle’s insurance covers the damage, judicial sources commented. In Entre Ríos, the rule of zero alcohol for driving applies, but insurers usually give a margin of up to one gram.
A standard policy from Iapser Seguros, the state company that insures the fleet of official vehicles, establishes among the causes of exclusion of civil liability coverage: “When the insured vehicle is driven by a person in a state of intoxication. It is understood that a person is in a state of intoxication if he or she refuses to take the alcohol test (or any other appropriate test) or when, having taken it, it returns a result equal to or greater than one gram of alcohol per thousand grams of blood at the time. of the accident.”
Patrimonial consequences
According to initial information, the VW Passat owned by the Port Institute of the province and driven by Ruiz Orrico caused the impact when crossing the lane. Ruiz Orrico is a rural leader linked to the Rural Society. He was a three-time candidate for mayor of Concepción del Uruguay, the fifth largest city in Entre Ríos. At the first opportunity, he joined Eduardo Duhalde’s ticket in 2011. In the next two (2015 and 2019) he competed for the PRO. In all of them he lost.
He is in a relationship with Judge Evangelina Bruzzo, a member of the Criminal Court of Appeals of Concordia, with jurisdiction in the central-eastern part of Entre Ríos. The circumstance is not minor. The first prosecutor who intervened, María Occhi, excused herself because of her friendship with Bruzzo. The investigation was then passed on to Eduardo Santos.
