At this meeting, cooperation issues were discussed that would allow consolidate joint actions to strengthen security, disaster resilience and the environment in the Cauca’s Valley.
In addition, there was also talk about the empowerment of women in the public force and support for women victims of sexual violence in the context of the armed conflict.

The commander of US Southern Command served as:
- Commander, U.S. Army North
- Deputy Commander, United States Army Forces Command at Fort Bragg, North Carolina.
- Chief of the Army Legislative Liaison to the United States Congress in Washington DC
- Deputy Chief of Staff for Communications, International Security Assistance Force Headquarters in support of Operation Enduring Freedom.
He has also held positions such as military assistant to the vice president of the United States, legislative liaison of the Army to Congress in the United States Capitol, USA and as an Army campaign planner in the Pentagon.
