The hospital network in Córdoba was declared on yellow alert

Due to the celebration of the National Porro Festival, which takes place from today until next Sunday, June 30, the Government of Córdoba has declared a yellow alert in the hospital network of the department, as a preventive measure against possible scenarios that may arise and that require immediate intervention by the health system.

This measure, implemented through the Secretariat for Health Development, aims to activate the Hospital Emergency Plans to respond in a timely manner to any eventuality that may arise during the event.

Until when does the yellow alert last?

The yellow alert began at 6:00 p.m. yesterday and will remain in effect until 6:00 a.m. on Monday, July 1, 2024. This ensures that health institutions are prepared to deal with a possible increase in the demand for medical services due to the massive influx of people and the increased vehicular mobility associated with the festival.

The Secretary for Health Development, Carlos Vasco Álvarez, stressed that the festival, which is held in the municipality of San Pelayo, attracts a large number of Cordobans and visitors. This increase in the movement of people and vehicles on the different roads of the territory increases the risk of accidents and other adverse events, which justifies the need for the yellow alert.

During this alert period, Health Service Providers must report any eventuality immediately. Communications must be sent via email. [email protected] or through the available mobile and landlines, ensuring a quick and effective response to any emergency situation that may arise during the festival.
