Tremor is recorded in northern Chile: check the magnitude of the earthquake here

A tremor shook the north of the country during the morning of this Saturday, June 8, specifically in the Arica and Parinacota region.

According to the National Seismology Center of the University of Chile, The earthquake had a magnitude of 5 while its epicenter was located at 33.8 kilometers southwest of Camiña.

The medium intensity tremor was recorded exactly at 05:22:47 on June 8 and in addition to the Arica and Parinacota region, it also affected Tarapacá.

Meanwhile, the National Disaster Prevention and Response System (Senapred) reported that the SHOA indicates that The characteristics of the earthquake do not meet the necessary conditions to generate a tsunami on the coasts of Chile.

Likewise, Senapred indicated that it continues to evaluate the impact on people and damage to infrastructure and basic services, the result of which will be reported through the incident or emergency reports prepared by the agency.
