Since Sony Pictures took over the rights to Spider-Man, the universe of the wall-crawler has expanded in all directions. This means that in recent decades we have seen all types of productions reach theaters. While the movies live action seem not to be their strong point (with Madame Web and Morbius like its most recent mistakes), the animation area has given us films like Spider-Man: a new universe (Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse, 2018) and its sequel. These films not only turned out to be a critical and box office success, but they also stood out for innovating with their techniques, aesthetics and narrative.

Now a new report indicates that Sony Pictures Animation would be interested in producing another high-profile animated film. In this case, it would be a feature film focused on Venom and aimed at an adult audience with an R rating. In turn, this news is accompanied by a name: Seth Rogen.

According to an industry insider, the actor, producer and screenwriter would be the studio’s favorite to bring this animated project to fruition. It is worth mentioning that Roger is no stranger to this type of adaptations for adults and the history of Venom It seems like something that would fit like a glove.
