Dane DeHaan mulls eventual return as Green Goblin in The Amazing Spider-Man
In an exclusive interview with Screen Rant, Dane DeHaanwho played Harry Osborn in the film The Amazing Spider-Man 2, he announced if he would like to return to his character. This was all she had to say about it:
Never say Never, but I honestly haven’t talked to anyone having to do with Spider-Man in about 10 years. So I would be surprised to get that phone call. I love playing comic book characters, like superheroes and that kind of stuff. I would be very interested in returning to that world in some way. But if it were related to Spider-ManI would be very surprised because I haven’t received a phone call or email in 10 years.
For the Green Goblin, power is all that matters
Even though he was not chosen for make a cameo in Spider-Man: No Way Homethe version of Dane DeHaan as Green Goblin could still resurface through a couple of viable options to Marvel. The most logical would be with the production of The Amazing Spider-Man 3since there has been a constant movement for Andrew Garfield close the circle of the trilogy with one last film. On the other hand, Dane DeHaan could also appear in Spider-Man: Beyond the Spider-Versefor its ease in bringing back old versions of iconic characters.
Regarding the MCUthe actor could appear as part of Avengers 5 either Avengers: Secret Wars, as it is believed that those films will return to past versions of Marvel’s most popular characters. Not only does it give the audience a chance to see what Dane DeHaan’s version of the Green Goblin is up to right now, but it’s also a way to bring back Andrew Garfield. A cameo might be the best way to go.
Although Sony Pictures did not know how to handle The Amazing Spider-Man 2 very wellthe casting of Dane DeHaan as the Green Goblin was not one of the weakest points. Dane DeHaan could not continue developing villain after the movies The Amazing Spider-Man 3 and The Amazing Spider-Man 4 were discarded by the study. Only time will tell if Dane DeHaan reappears as Green Goblin on the big screen.
