While Rebel Moon continues to face the audience’s verdict after the premiere of The Warrior Who Leaves Marks a little over a week ago on Netflix, Zack Snyder confirmed last Friday the premiere of a new project on the platform, this time made directly in animation . This is Twilight of the Gods, a Nordic-inspired series created with Jay Oliva and Eric Carrasco.
Through Twitter, the film director It is dated for autumn the premiere of the series, letting us see a first image of the project. Nothing more has been said, so now we will look at the newspaper archive, but we do know that a preview of the production will be shown in the Annecy International Animated Film Festivalto be held between June 9 and 15, where Netflix hopes to also show news from Wallace & Gromit, Spellbound and other projects.
What is Twilight of the Gods about?
As you can imagine from its name, it is a fiction strongly linked to Norse mythology. From statements from the past, we know that this story will follow throughout eight chapters the steps of the young Sigrid, daughter of giants, who after an “event” will undertake a crazy revenge mission along with a rich cast of characters in which there is, at least, a seer and a dwarf. Its objective? Find a god and fight him. Little else has been said, except that this proposal will have a good part of the things that the filmmaker likes.
We know that Zack Snyder directs the first and last chapter. Aside from this project, Zack Snyder also has an animated spin-off of Army of the Dead underway that is still unclear if it will come to fruition. Let’s hope so, but in the meantime it’s enough to remember that Rebel Moon’s Director’s Cuts arrive in August, so 2024 is undoubtedly a big year for its fans.
