I am the guy who will tell you all the latest news in film and television in 3DJuegos. I am passionate about science fiction, fantasy, superheroes and film curiosities, those little behind-the-scenes stories of the directors and actors we have been following since we were little. My favorite saga? Star Trek. My favorite character? Superman, although lately a little more John Wick. One last thing, I promise not to bore you too much in my topics. LinkedIn

In cinema, as in video games, delays are the order of the day, but these are almost always for purely commercial reasons. Thus, today we have learned that Kraven the Hunter will arrive a few months later than the last scheduled date, now facing The Lord of the Rings in time for Christmas.

As we can read in Variety, the origins film of the supervillain of Spider-Man from Sony & Marvel Entertainment will be released December 13, taking the date that until now was reserved for Karate Kid’s. If Warner Bros. does not say otherwise, the big screen debut of The War of the Rohirrim is also scheduled for that same day.

This is not the first delay for Kraven the Hunter

Sony’s plans for Kraven the Hunter originally included a release on January 31, 2023, then a release on October 6, 2023 and, as we said, until now it had its launch set for August 30. Finally, if no more changes are announced, it will be December 13 in what promises to be a pitched battle for the public’s attention this Christmas.

All December releases in theaters

And we are not only talking about Sony & Marvel superheroes and the return to theaters of Middle Earth several years after The Hobbit trilogy, but also about December 20 where we will see Sonic, the movie 3 and Mufasa, the prequel to The Lion King, a live-action Disney remake that swept theaters.

  • Nightbitch — December 6
  • The Lord of the Rings: The War of the Rohirrim — December 13
  • Kraven the Hunter — December 13
  • Sonic the Movie 3 — December 20
  • Mufasa: The Lion King — December 20
  • Nosferatu — December 25

It will certainly be interesting to see who finally wins the day. Which film do you bet on? Kraven the Hunter, let us remember, promises to tell the visceral story of how and why one of the most emblematic villains of Spider-Man and Marvel arose, betting on Aaron Taylor-Johnson as the protagonist.
