Mission Impossible: Deadly Sentence – Part 1 It was a 163-minute long film that led to Ethan Huntplayed by Tom Cruise, on a new mission around the world to save the planet.
Unfortunately, the film was left with an open ending that we have been waiting for months to see resolved in its sequel. We’ll still have to be patient, but at least it already has a confirmed release date for next May 23, 2025.
Will Mission Impossible 8 be the end of the saga?
Although initially the two installments were going to be filmed simultaneously, in the end production was extended for several years. Filming in the United Kingdom ended in 2022, along with other locations such as Malta, South Africa or Norway. After the various strikes that took place last year, the filming of Mission Impossible 8 It resumed last March.
For now it is not clear what title the film will have. That the first installment had the subtitle of Mortal Sentence – Part 1 This caused the film to not have the expected success in cinemas, so when it arrived on streaming platforms it was removed from being a first part.
Furthermore, at the time it was shared that these two films would represent the final farewell to Tom Cruise as Ethan Hunt, but Christopher McQuarrie showed interest last year in continuing with the saga, and Tom Cruise in continuing to play this character.

As for the film’s technical team, Christopher McQuarrie has written the script for the sequel together with Bruce Geller, Fraser Taggart has returned as director of photography, and Lorne Balfe returns to composing music after participating in Mortal Sentence – Part 1.
