Do you like domestic assault movies? Well get ready, because Lionsgate wants you to register at your favorite cinema to enjoy strangersthe remake of The Strangers that will expand the story to such a level that it needs to be told in three films.
In fact, the first installment will hit theaters this summer under the title Strangers: Chapter 1but don’t think that this is a trilogy that is going to make us wait months or years to see its continuation.
As stated Variety, Strangers will release its three films within the span of a year. The rights were acquired by the production company Courtney Solomona fan of the original film, who worked with Alan R. Cohen, Alan Freedland and Amber Loutfi to prepare the remake.
But the story had so much potential that, as he tells Variety, the resulting script was enormous to cover just one film:
“I don’t know if it can be improved [la original], so why don’t we take that basic premise as a starting point and modify it for a larger story that turns into true character-driven horror? You need to spend time with both the protagonists and the antagonists, so we started what ended up being a 285-page script“.

The trilogy will follow in the recent footsteps of sagas such as The street of terrorin Netflixwhich released its three deliveries in three consecutive weeks, or x and Pearlwhich arrived with an interval of six months, although the third delivery, MaXXXineit has taken a little longer.

Strangers: Chapter 1 It starts from the premise of the original film, with slight variations. A stop on a road trip ends with the secluded house that the protagonists have rented attacked by three violent and mysterious masked men.
It will be the June 12, 2024 when Strangers: Chapter 1 arrives in Spanish cinemas from Lionsgate. It remains to be seen what dates are established for the other two installments, but it will be within a year anticipated by the studio.
