La Plata prepares to pay tribute to Star Wars

The day in honor of the saga will take place this Sunday, May 12 at the Open Theater.

Last May 4, fans from all over the planet celebrated World Star Wars Day, and La Plata will be no exception in honoring this iconic galactic saga. In an epic event, the city will receive a mega tribute that fuses entertainment, solidarity and the magic of a galaxy far, far away.

The tribute to Star Wars will take place this Sunday, May 12 at the Open Theater, located on 63rd Street between 3 and 4. From 4 to 8 p.m., attendees will have the opportunity to immerse themselves in a multidimensional and interactive universe, which will include screenings, live entertainment and immersive experiences from the saga.

Among the planned activities, highlights include a cosplay contest for adults and children, galactic soft combat, thematic flashmob, a live musical show, talks and projections by Matanga!, a photo set, thematic retro gaming, make up, food and drink theme, stands with products from the saga, collectors’ exhibitions, live illustration and flash tattoo.

The event has been strategically designed not only as a source of entertainment and consumption, but also as a platform to promote and develop entrepreneurs in the sector.

In addition to fun, the Star Wars Tribute has a charitable background; Non-perishable food will be collected, such as noodles and polenta, which will be destined for La Casita de Marta, a shelter that welcomes parents of children who are admitted to the Garrahan Hospital. Those who contribute food will have the opportunity to obtain a free professional photo with the characters of the saga.

Tickets for this unique event are now available through cremadelcielo.tiendup.com/e/tributo-a-star-wars or on the Instagram accounts @cremadelcielo.eventostematicos and @matanga.geek.
