Russell Crowe has just officially become Hollywood’s exorcist. After success with ‘The Pope’s Exorcist‘, a film by Julius Avery based on the life of Father Gabriele Amorth, The Oscar-winning actor is preparing to release a new horror project in commercial theaters which, although it may not seem like it, was filmed five years ago, but has not achieved a release window until now. Under the title of The Georgetow Exorcism‘, work by Joshua John Miller (The last survivors), Crowe will return to the billboard with his genre project on May 31 with a proposal as interesting as it is different.

Joshua John Miller’s film had a lot of problems finding distribution, but the success of The Pope’s Exorcist‘ made Vertical Entertainment bet on the projectand Crowe’s feature film managed to raise 76 million dollars based on a budget of 18 million, even ensuring a sequel to give shape to a new horror film series. ‘The Georgetown Exorcism’ will once again pit Crowe against demons, but this time with a somewhat different premise: “Anthony Miller is a troubled actor who begins to fall apart during the filming of a supernatural horror film. His distant daughter “wonders if his father is returning to his past addictions or if there is something more sinister behind it,” reads the synopsis.

The plot of revolves around the tension between reality and the supernaturalwith Anthony Miller’s daughter, played by Ryan Simpkins, trying to figure out if his father’s problems are the result of old addictions or demonic forces. The film’s cast includes actors such as Sam Worthington, Chloe Bailey, Adam Goldberg and David Hyde Pierce, who accompany Crowe in this psychological thriller. The film allows Crowe to immerse himself in a complex role that explores both internal and supernatural demons, an acting challenge.
