Chris Hemsworth criticizes the actors who get off the UCM bandwagon at the first opportunity

The actor once again reiterates his desire to give Thor a twist if he plays him again

Over the years, the MCU has shown all kinds of adventures in which superheroes face powerful villains, but the former have almost always prevailed. That is why we have become accustomed to faces like Robert Downey Jr., Chris Evans, Mark Ruffalo or Chris Hemsworth, among others.

Precisely, the interpreter in charge of giving life to Thor has been present in the cinematographic universe for more than a decade and, although he has not been satisfied with his work in Thor: Love and Thunder, the truth is that he is fond of the character. That is why, during an interview with The Times, Hemsworth spoke about the drastic changes of opinion among some colleagues:

“It’s like, ‘These are successful movies, put me in one.’ Oh, mine didn’t work? I’m going to criticize them. Look, I grew up on a soap opera. And it used to bother me that the actors would later talk about the show with guilt or shame. Humility is very important. One of the older actors on Home and Away said, ‘We don’t get paid to make good lines sound good, we get paid to make bad ones work.’

He hasn’t singled out anyone in particular, but there are enough figures in the world of acting to give us an idea of what he’s referring to. Christian Bale explained that his time in the UCM “is the definition of monotony”, while Anthony Hopkins stated that “if you’re sitting in front of a green screen, there’s no point in acting.” Ray Winstone, who played Dreykov in Black Widow, also detailed that his time in the franchise did not leave him with pleasant memories.

On the other hand, Hemsworth has once again insisted on his intention to give Thor a twist if he plays him again.

“But hey, everything is a lesson. And if I ever came back [Thor] I would wonder how we could change it back. But there’s a superhero curse in the sense that you get pigeonholed, and I’ve been feeling a little limited in what I could do, so I desperately wanted something that was really scary. And Furiosa did it.”
