Netflix has released the official trailer for ‘Super detective in Hollywood: Axel F.‘, fourth installment of the legendary franchise in which Eddie Murphy reprises his role as Axel Foley. The film will arrive on the streaming platform on July 3, 2024.

Mark Molloy makes his debut as a feature film director with this project whose cast includes Joseph Gordon-levitt, Taylour Paige, Judge Reinhold, John Ashton, Paul Reiser, Bronson Pinchot and Kevin Bacon. The story comes from Will Beall, who co-wrote the script with Tom Gormican and Kevin Etten.

Inspector Axel Foley (Murphy) returns to patrol Beverly Hills. When his daughter’s life is in danger, she (Paige) and Foley turn to a new partner (Gordon-Levitt) and their old friends Billy Rosewood (Reinhold) and John Taggart (Ashton) to go all out and uncover a conspiracy.

Murphy produces the film alongside Jerry Bruckheimer, Chad Oman and Melissa Reid, with Ray Angelic, Charisse Hewitt-Webster and Lorenzo Di Bonaventura serving as executive producers.

The first installment of ‘Super detective in Hollywood‘ premiered in 1984 starring Eddie Murphy as Axel Foley, a Detroit police officer who visits Beverly Hills, California, to solve the murder of his best friend. The film was a huge success, grossing over $300 million at the global box office, and even earned an Oscar nomination for Best Original Screenplay. The film also spawned two sequels that were released in 1987 and 1994, although they did not achieve the praise and box office success of the original.
