I am the boy who will tell you all the latest news in film and television in 3DJuegos. I am passionate about science fiction, fantasy, superheroes and film curiosities, those little behind-the-scenes stories of the directors and actors we have been following since we were little. My favorite saga? Star Trek. My favorite character? Superman, although lately a little more John Wick. One last thing, I promise not to bore you too much in my topics. LinkedIn

This week the development of a television series based on what many consider one of the most unpleasant films in history, the film gore horror from Hostel, directed in 2005 by Eli Roth with Quentin Tarantino as producer. Only a few details are known about the project, for example that will star Paul Giamatti.

As we can read in Variety, the idea behind this production is to make a modern adaptation, or “reinvention”, of the horror film, so we would not be so much with a remake, but rather with a relaunch of the series from a somewhat more current perspective. At the moment no further details have been shared, nor has it been said which platform the series would be for.

A cult horror film blockbuster

Hostel is not only one of the most unpleasant films of all time, the seventh according to Filmaffinity users, but also a horror movie blockbuster. In this sense, the first installment of the franchise raised $82 million after a small investment of $4.5 million, with a sequel in 2007 that still made a lot of money.

In addition, this production put Eli Roth on the map, who returns to direct the series, and has the Borderlands movie among his next works. If you haven’t seen Hostel, you can do so through rental platforms. The movie follows an American college couple who travel through Europe without even the slightest suspicion of the hell they are going to end up going through.
