The production ‘Somos Belén’ will be produced by K&S Films, and will show both women facing a corrupt legal system in a city that wants to see them fail, but as word spreads and support for Belén increases, a movement of women around the case.
This movement resonated throughout Argentina and left an indelible mark on the history of reproductive rights throughout the region.
Furthermore it is worth mentioning that the book ‘We are Bethlehem‘ was published in 2019 throughout the Spanish-speaking world, and this year HarperCollins will publish it again but in English. This edition will feature a foreword written by Margaret Atwood (‘The Handmaid’s Tale’) that highlights that “when it comes to women, injustices are hidden in plain sight, buried in silence and euphemism.”
