Superman: Flyby was a project focused on Clark Kent that never came to fruition
Become superman It is a luxury that very few actors have had. Christopher Reeve, Henry Cavill and David Corenswet are some who have played Clark Kent himself, while others have fallen by the wayside due to not being up to the task or simply due to lack of motivation.
The latter was what happened to Jude Law. In an interview with the American media The Playlist, the London actor revealed that he was one of JJ Abrams’ great favorites to play Clark Kent in the film Superman: Flybybut ultimately decided to reject the role due to lack of sufficient motivation to be the new Man of Steel.
“There was a flirtation process, but I always resisted because I felt dull and unmotivated. And I know you can say, ‘Well, but you played Yon-Rogg and Dumbledore!’ It just seemed like it was going too far. I felt like it wasn’t the right thing to do. Anyway, I tried on the suit, looked in the mirror and part of me initially said, ‘Wow, this would be amazing,’ and then I thought, ‘Nope.’ “You can’t, you can’t do this. You just can’t.”
Fortunately, neither the actor nor the project moved forward, so he did not have to regret his decision. Even so, the actor did later participate in superhero films, specifically in Captain Marvelplaying the Kree Yon-Rogg.
On the other hand, JJ Abrams went to Disney to direct two Star Wars films, and although this film superman did not come to fruition, DC Studios continued to trust him and gave him the opportunity to make another Man of Steel film that is still in early development.
