Longest movie in history, almost 1000 hours!

If you have ever wondered what the longest movie of all is, here is the answer. It takes 41 days to see it!

I thought that the longest cinema film in history was Logistics (2012), since it stands out for its exceptional duration: 51,420 minutes, which is equivalent to 857 hours or 35 days and 17 hours. But I have found a longer one, it is 100 (2019), which lasts 59,460 minutes or what is the same as 991 hours, which is 41 days and 3 hours.

Conceived and created by Erika Magnusson and Daniel Andersson, Logistics invites us on a unique journey through time and consumption. The film follows the production cycle of a pedometer in reverse chronological order, from final sales to its origin and manufacturing. A journey that takes us from Stockholm to Shenzhen, passing through ports and factories, revealing the complexity and scale of the global supply chain.

Through this unique lens, Logistics confronts us with the often forgotten reality of physical freight transportation. In a digital world that seems to move at breakneck speeds, the film reminds us of the slow, laborious work that sustains our economic reality.

Logistics (2012)

Obviously Logistics is not a movie for everyone. Its slow pace and lack of traditional narrative may be challenging for some viewers. However, for those willing to immerse themselves in its unique experience, it offers a revealing look at the world around us and the role we play in it.

What exactly is 100? What other productions last this long? Here I leave you the answers.

100 is an experimental animated film by Marco Romano, responsible for My Heart Was Killed by Madness Witch with Big Ass (2019) and Ambient 0 (2020).

100

Longest movies:

  • 100 of Marco Romano – 991 hours.
  • Logistics by Erika Magnusson and Daniel Andersson – 857 hours.
  • The Longest Video on YouTube by Jonathan Harchick – 596.5 hours.
  • Modern Times Forever by Bjornstjerne Reuter Christiansen, Jakob Fenger and Rasmus Nielsen – 240 hours.
  • Svalbard minutt for minutt by Maryann BendiksenHelge LyngmoeKari Toft – 221 hours.
  • Qw of Marco Romano – 167 hours.
  • Beijing 2003 by Ai Weiwei – 150 hours.

You have to really want to watch a movie that lasts so many hours, since spending entire days in front of the same production can leave you devastated. Don’t you think? Leave me your opinion in the comments section.

Here I leave you the information about a 7-hour movie, in case you want to train before delving into a story that takes up entire days.

Another recommendation for a great science fiction story.
