Deadpool and Wolverine will bring to Marvel Studios a unique style that until now we have not been able to enjoy due to rights issues

There are only a few weeks left until the Merc with a Mouth lands in cinemas around the world with Deadpool and Wolverine. The next Marvel Studios film hopes to be the biggest hit of recent years for the company, and one of its greatest assets will be combining two styles that until now had not crossed paths due to legal problems.

Via the official Marvel Studios podcast, Kevin Feige revealed that this new film, previously part of the X-Men universe, will be the first to combine the style of the X-Men films with the way films are made in the MCU, creating a unique production in the franchise.

“We had nothing to do with the first two Deadpool movies. Marvel Studios had nothing to do with them, so in a way, we were playing in Ryan’s turf. We were playing in someone else’s sandbox. On the other hand, they were playing in our turf. We wanted the mix of those styles to be unique.”

Feige acknowledges in this same interview that it was a real pleasure to combine these styles, plus it seems to have worked perfectly thanks to the enormous work of Shawn Levy in the direction and Ryan Reynolds in his role as a mocking antihero, in addition to the excellent performance of Hugh Jackman like Logan.

It’s clear that in many ways this film will be unique, and everything points to a story that is more grounded in the Marvel Studios style, while the violent fights and choreography will be more similar to that of the X-Men. Deadpool and Wolverine will hit theaters around the world on July 25, 2024.
